Van Dyck WWI Miniatures

A fellow wargamer and member of the local club turned me on to a really good figure manufacturer during the end of November.  The figures are Van Dyck Miniatures or as I have seen them called Van Dyck Models & Figurines. They are in Belgium and do mail order and accept paypal.

I bought some of their WWI German Infantry, Command and Jagers.  They also have machine gunners in shako’s but were out of stock.  You just don’t find that choice in other ranges.  The company also makes Belgian troops for the same period. The castings are outstanding with no mold seams or flash.  I fully understand why a friend likes there War of Spanish Succession figures as if they are like the WWI figure what is not to like.  The manufacturer is very upfront about the scale.  They are for the figures I received 12mm and bigger than my Pendraken 10mm figures.  I would say you would not be able to mix them on the same stand.  The company is very upfront about the scale and show examples on the website for me the choice of figures, casting quality, officer choices make them a number one choice.  Hey they even sent me a mounted German Officer with my order, that is not even in the catalog.  No one makes one of those that I know of.

They figures paint up really nice they even include the infantry sword knot on the belt designating the company and battalion.  Okay yes no body at 12 mm is going to see that the figure is from the 10th company by the color stipe on the sword knot but hey they cast it and I have never seen anyone else do that.  So yeah I paint it and if you go blind looking at at the table trying to figure out which company and battalion the individual figure represents that is your problem.

They make Belgian and German WWI figures and magnetic bases.  They further make early Imperial Romans and Tribesman and War of Spanish Succession Infantry.  They also make railroad tracks which might be something else I will pick up from them for my battlefields. So if you want some really nice cast figures with details in select periods take a look if the scale works for you they are nice figures.  The shipping to the US was fast and friendly.

Now I feel during the times I must add this.  I am no way compensated by Van Dyck miniatures for this post.  This is just my own humble opinion based on figures I bought from the company.  I had never heard of them until a fellow wargamer asked me if I had ever seen the figures in a email.  Email is how I am able to talk with fellow wargamers now with the pandemic causing social distancing.
